Rock 101
Rock 101 is a class that meets everyday during 6th hour. It is an auditioned group that generally consists of a singer(s),guitars, bass, drummer, and keyboard player. Students learn and perform songs in various styles of rock. They also learn about the history and progression of rock, as well as some of the note worthy musicians. Performances include the Homecoming Tailgate, Pep Assemblies, and community events.
Rock 101 2026-27 Members:
Scout Veller is a senior at CHS and this is her third in Rock 101 as a singer. She has been involved in music for her whole life. She is also president of Tri-M, secretary of Student Council, involved in FCA, ARK, Spirit Club, and she is in the choir and worship team at her Church. As one of the senior members in Rock 101, she is really looking forward to working with the new members of the band. She is so excited to be in Rock 101 for this third and final year, and she hopes you enjoy their shows as much as she does.

Ayden Webb is a junior at Centralia High School. This is his first year drumming in Rock 101. He also plays drums in the Marching Showcase and a local band named Stereo Image. He’s been playing drums for 6 years. He loves performing music and collects hundreds of CDs and records.

Keira Fontanez is a senior at Centralia High School. This is her second year in rock 101. She is in the CHS choir and drama club. She also participates in the CHS marching band as a colorguard member. She has always had a passion for singing and performing, so she is so excited to be a part of Rock 101 for her last year of high school.

Noah Rankin is a senior at CHS. He has done jazz band for 2 years. He has played guitar for almost 4 years. He also has some experience playing drums for church. This is his 3rd year in Rock 101.

Cope Mahle is the bassist and a senior at Centralia High School. He participates in various other ensembles, such as the marching band, concert band, pep band, and jazz band. He also enjoys sports outside of school as a big fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis City SC, and WWE professional wrestling. He plays the trombone, tuba/sousaphone/contra, Euphonium, and bass. He is ready and excited for his second and final year in Rock 101!

Jakob Wood is a junior at CHS, this is his first year in Rock 101. Jakob plays many instruments including guitar, drums, and piano. He has played guitar for 6 years. He also makes music on the side and goes by Affections and is in a band called Stereo Image.

Callia Smith is a Senior at CHS and this is her first year of Rock 101. Callia is also involved in colorguard, concert band, choir, drama club, art club, Tri-M, and soccer. She has always wanted to sing and can’t wait to perform as vocalist, even while doing all of her other activities!

Olivia Sipe is a senior at CHS. This is her first year pianist with rock 101 but fourth year with the band program. Her activities include percussion in concert and pep band (4 years), piano in jazz (2 years), choir (1 year), colorguard (4 years, 3 year captain), and art (4 years). She frequently enjoys punk rock bands and can’t wait to perform alongside Rock Band.
