Performance on Jackson Square Steps

The Marching Showcase started their adventure in New Orleans with a stand still performance on the Jackson Square Steps in the French Quarters.

Awards for Performing in the Sugar Bowl Parade and Halftime

The Showcase was honored at the Worldstrides dance and dinner reception for their performance in the Sugar Bowl Parade and Halftime.

The Showcase performed in front of an audience of 60,000+ people, alongside 7 other bands featured at the Sugar Bowl. 

Marching Showcase

The Marching Showcase is a marching band comprised of wind, brass, percussion, and color guard members. All students enrolled in Concert Band and Percussion Ensemble are required to participate in the Marching Showcase. The Color Guard is an auditioned part of the band, and it also includes students that are not in a band class.

The Marching Showcase march in parades throughout the fall and in the annual Centralia Halloween Parade. At the beginning of August, the band goes through two weeks of band camp, when they learn their marching show for the fall season. They perform the show during halftime at home football games and at major competitions in Illinois.

Under the Stars

The 2022 Marching Showcase field show is titled, Under the Stars.

This production includes Cambridge, 1963 by Johannsson, Coldplay's Sky Full of Stars, Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star and Harmonium: Mvnt. 3 "Wild Nights" by Adams. Music is arranged by John Fannin. 

​This show was also dedicated to our former Color Guard Director James Maines, whose light will forever shine in our hearts.

2020 Show

Immortal

The 2020 Marching Showcase field show is titled, Immortal.

In the midst of the COVID-19 Pandemic the Showcase is proud to present their show Immortal. Music selections include My Immortal and Hello by the band Evanescense, arranged by Aaron Guidry. The Showcase would like to dedicate this show to the Class of 2020 & 2021. As a remembrance of being immortal through these unpresidential times. 

​2020 Awards & Honors

1st place and two 2nd place awards in the Field Show Competitions and two 2nd place awards in the Parade Competitions.
The Showcase was featured in a movie filmed by O’fallon’s Metro East Music Celebration, which also featured other bands in the area.

Machine

The 2019 Marching Showcase field show is titled, Machine

The Showcase is excited to present a popular show written by Lewis Norfleet. Norfleet is active as a composer and arranger having produced over 300 works for concert band, marching band, jazz band, percussion ensemble and various chamber ensembles. Selections will focus on the robotic and mechanical sounds of machinery.

2013 Show

The Blue and The Gray

The 2013 Marching Showcase field show will be titled, The Blue and The Gray. 

2013 marks the 150th anniversary of some of the most influential events of the American Civil War. The Emancipation Proclamation, the Siege of Vicksburg, and the Battle of Gettysburg all took place in 1863. The Showcase will utilize familiar Civil War era tunes to honor and even re-enact the soldiers that helped shape America.

Showcase  earns  top  honors  at  Alamo  Bowl

12/31/13

The Marching Showcase had an enjoyable, successful trip down to San Antonio, TX this past week. The students performed a Beatles medley during halftime of the 2013 Valero Alamo Bowl with 15 other bands from around the country. Furthermore, the Marching Showcase placed 1st in Class A competition at the Valero Alamo Bowl field show competition. Additional awards include Outstanding Music, Marching, General Effect, Auxiliary, Percussion, and Drum Major. 

Students and chaperones also spent time at Six Flags Fiesta Texas and explored downtown San Antonio including The River Walk, The Alamo, Market Square, and the Rivercenter Mall.

Apocalyptic gives sound to the destructive forces of nature that continually reshape our planet.
