Rock 101
Rock 101 is a class that meets everyday during 6th hour. It is an auditioned group that generally consists of a singer(s),guitars, bass, drummer, and keyboard player. Students learn and perform songs in various styles of rock. They also learn about the history and progression of rock, as well as some of the note worthy musicians. Performances include the Homecoming Tailgate, Pep Assemblies, Basketball Games, and May Fete.
Rock 101 2025-26 Members:
Scout Veller is a Junior at CHS and this is her second year of Rock 101. Scout is also involved in drama club, choir, Tri-M, spirit club, ARK, FCA, and History Club. Outside of school, Scout acts and directs at the Centralia Cultural Society, and she sings at her church. Scout can’t wait for this year of Rock 101!

Landon Powless, is a senior at Centralia High School and participates in many ensembles, such as the Marching Band, Concert Band and Jazz Band ensembles. He plays drumset for rock 101 and the jazz band. Jazz band is his favorite ensemble and one of his favorite genres. He enjoys playing the drums and hopes that participating in rock 101 will further enhance his drumming and his identity as a performer. He is very excited for the upcoming year.

Keira Fontanez is a junior at Centralia High School. This is her first year in rock 101. She is in the CHS choir and drama club. She also participates in the CHS marching band as a colorguard member. She has always had a passion for singing and performing, so she is so excited to be a part of Rock 101 this year.

Noah Rankin is a junior at Centralia High School. This is his second year playing guitar in Rock 101, and has about 3 years of guitar experience. He was in the CHS Jazz Band for 1 year, and has been part of the CHS Bass Fishing team for 2 years. He is looking forward to rockin' out on the guitar this year!

Cope Mahle is the bassist and a junior at Centralia High School. He participates in various other ensembles, such as the marching band, concert band, pep band, and jazz band. He plans to participate in various sports at the high school such as cross country, track and field, and bowling. He also enjoys sports outside of school as a big fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis City SC, and WWE professional wrestling. He plays the trombone, tuba/sousaphone/contra, and bass. He is ready and excited for his first year in Rock 101!

Abram Miller is a Senior and the keyboardist for Rock 101. He also participates in ensembles such as playing synthesizer in the Marching Showcase, and Bari Saxophone in Concert Band. He is a member of the Centralia Tri-M Honor society. He plays Alto, Bari, and Tenor Saxophone, Piano, and anything else Mrs.Aarons-Dennison needs him to. He is very excited for Rock 101 in his last year of high school.
