Rock 101
Rock 101 is a class that meets everyday during 6th hour. It is an auditioned group that generally consists of a singer(s),guitars, bass, drummer, and keyboard player. Students learn and perform songs in various styles of rock. They also learn about the history and progression of rock, as well as some of the note worthy musicians. Performances include the Homecoming Tailgate, Pep Assemblies, Basketball Games, and May Fete.
Rock 101 2024-25 Members:
Scout Veller is a sophomore at Centralia High School, and this is her first year in Rock 101. Outside of school, Scout is involved in CHS choir and drama club, and she does theater at the Centralia Cultural Society. She is so excited to perform with this amazing group of musicians!

Landon Powless, is a junior at Centralia High School and participates in many ensembles, such as the Marching Band, Concert Band and Jazz Band ensembles. He plays drumset for rock 101 and the jazz band. Jazz band is his favorite ensemble and one of his favorite genres. He enjoys playing the drums and hopes that participating in rock 101 will further enhance his drumming and his identity as a performer. He is very excited for the upcoming year.

Lyra Shook is a Senior at Centralia High School. This is her second year of being a vocalist with the Rock 101 band. Music has played a big role in her life. She participates in CHS Choir, as well as drama club, Tri-M, and her church’s praise team. She also has 2 cats, named Alistor and Duchess, who she absolutely loves. She is looking forward to one more amazing year with Rock 101.

Madison Brandt is a senior at Centralia High School. This will be her 3rd year as a vocalist in rock 101. She is a member in CHS choir and drama club. She also has a dog named Charlie that she adores!!!

Noah Rankin is a sophomore at Centralia High School. He plays guitar in Rock 101 and has been playing guitar for about 7 months. Noah says "When I get home the guitar is normally the first thing I do." He is part of the CHS Bass fishing team and also has a little experience playing the piano/keyboard. This is his first year in Rock 101.

Jordan Wiley is the bassist and a junior at Centralia High School. He participates in various other ensembles, such as the marching band, concert band, and jazz band. He participates in various sports at the high school and is also a member of the Centralia chapter of the Tri-M Honor Society. He plays the trombone, baritone, bassoon, tuba/sousaphone, and bass (upright and electric). He is ready and excited for his second year in Rock 101!

Abram Miller is a Junior and the keyboardist for Rock 101. This is his first year in Rock 101 and hopes to do well this year. He also participated in ensembles such as playing synthesizer in the Marching Showcase, Tenor Saxophone in the Jazz Band, and Bari Saxophone. He is a member of the Centralia Tri-M Honor society. He’s played Alto, Bari, and Tenor Saxophone, Piano, and anything else Mrs.Aarons-Dennison needs him to. He is very excited to join Rock 101 this year.
